University of Toliara

The Institute of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (IH.SM), of the University of Toliara, was created in 1992 (ministerial decree n°92/1026 of 09/12/92). Its mission is Training and Research in the field of Marine Sciences, Fishing and Aquaculture, and the Marine and Coastal Environment. The IH.SM is responsible in particular for the Training of Higher Technicians – Fisheries Engineers and Biological Oceanographers (Bachelor’s, Masters and Doctorate). Furthermore, it can ensure the retraining of company agents according to their needs.
